TV Show Monk

Mr Monk cleaning again
I don't know how many of you watched or are still watching episodes of the famous TV show Monk but me and my husband watched all of the episodes and are sad that it is over. I  think Tony Shalhoub was the perfect Adrian Monk. If I ever see Tony Shalhoub in real life I'm afraid I may become one of those fans that cannot separate fiction from real life and run over to him to get an autograph from Mr Monk, the famous detective. If you haven't heard of this show I suggest you start watching it and not just the first episode, you need a little time to understand Mr Monk, he is not an ordinary person nor an ordinary detective. He has obsessive-compulsive disorder which is commonly referred to as OCD and as he says "It's a gift... and a curse". I am healthy as any other person but I do have different obsessions and I sometimes did relate to what Mr Monk was going through. Like Mr Monk I am an obsessive organizer, I have to have boxes or some other things that I need to put things into, I hate it when the house is a mess I mean I cannot study nor can I concentrate on anything. I have to check if I locked the door, when I'm getting out of the house, at least twice until I realize what I'm doing and tell myself to stop. The list goes on. I'm sure everyone has a person that is a little obsessive in their life.

Mr Monk cannot forget anything because of his almost perfect photographic memory he remembers things from his childhood so vividly that he still holds grudges to some of his classmates. After having a melt down when his wife gets murdered he was forced to leave his position in the San Francisco Police Department as a detective. He tries to hold on to life by consulting for SFPD in their murder cases. He loves his detective work and he is the best at it. He has had two assistants over the length of the show, Sharona Fleming(played by Bitty Schram) and Natalie Teeger(played by Traylor Howard). It was hard getting used to Natalie after Sharona left but after a while I loved Natalie too. They both had very different personalities and added so much to the show.

Using psychic(!) powers to solve a case
So, after we were done with all of 8 seasons of this great show I was looking around for a similar show. That is when I came across Psych. It was really hard getting used to Psych but now I like this show too. The show involves crime solving and laughter at the same time. I think it is a fun show but I'm still watching season 2 and I only watch it if I need a laugh or while I'm cooking something. My husband doesn't enjoy the show so maybe that's why I'm taking my time and not rushing to watch all of the episodes. In other words, I don't have a partner in crime in this case to watch all of the episodes :). In this show we have two very different buddies and one of them like Mr Monk is a very good observer, he analyzes details and finds amazing stories so he is the psychic(!) detective consultant because he can guess many things by just observing them. He sells himself as a psychic consultant to the police so the story becomes more interesting.
